| February 8th, 2006 It's transplant day... and I'm quickly
typing this at 5:00AM this morning while I get ready to go. My sister
Jo-Jo arrived from BC last night and the girls and I picked her up at the
airport and then proceeded to the hospital to meet up with Johnson.
I miss him this morning... but I know I'll see him soon. I can't
think... surely I've forgotten something? Oh well, I suppose it will
have to wait until after the surgery now.
These past 5 days have been such a whirlwind! It's a good thing we
have been kept sooooooo busy with hospital tests, reporters, news stations,
etc. Really... It has been a great distraction for Johnson as I know
it is helping to keep his mind off of today.
We saw Johnson last night at the hospital, Stephanie made him an
amazing card called "The Important Thing About My Dad", and I tell you it
has already been circulated all around the transplant unit by all the
nurses! I am so proud, and must say it did bring a tear to my eyes.
She will give me my card today. I hope I hold it together for the
girls sake. No crying... I must be strong, happy and a positive
influence on them today.
Johnson also called late last night, and he seemed fine. His
biggest worries are our children. He has anxiety about not being their
for me, and not being there for them. Please keep praying for him to
be at peace.
I have such a calm over me...I am not alone... I am not scared. GOD
is with me, and I have such an ARMY of Angels surrounding me lately that I
feel fine.
Thank you to everyone who has e-mailed and phoned us. We have read
all of your e-mails...every single one (even yours Lisa and Geoff sent at
12:06AM this morning (love ya!), and we will write back to each of you soon!
AMAZING is the love and support pouring out from everyone!
Please pray that our immediate families at the hospital be at much peace
as Johnson and I. His parents are very worried, and so is my
mother... I can't imagine being a parent of someone about to do this
transplant. Remember... they are not as educated as we are, therefore,
their fears are greatest.
I must now go wake everyone... In one hours time I will arrive at the
hospital. Man.... I sure could use an EXTRA LARGE TIM HORTONS
with Double Cream and Triple Sweetner!!!!
Love to all of you!
P.S. Check us out in today's Ottawa SUN as Johnson was interviewed by
them yesterday, and tonight on the A-Channel (6) for a short story at
6:00PM. If you miss that one, it will air again tonight at 11:00 and
again tomorrow morning.
Cheers!
