So... how to update everyone as quickly as possible?  Johnson has had a rough go of it all and my kidney is still a little slow getting a go on!  You see...cause Johnson is so healthy (so to speak) he is basically fighting my foreign kidney... that is not to say he is rejecting it, just that his body is saying... "Hey...what's this???... What am I suppose to do with it?"

He is producing allot of urine which is awesome, and a very good sign.  But the new kidney is not filtering much creatinine or urea yet.  This is not necessarily a bad thing.  However, Johnson has had to have dialysis performed through the central line in his chest three times now and he really doesn't like it!  It's awesome the technology that they use to filter the blood!  I am in awe of it all!  I take many pictures, and the nurses all love us!  They say we are soooo cute, and it's nice to see some happy people in there for a change.

So as you have most likely figured out, that I was able to get a cot set-up beside Johnson's bed in the hospital and I have been camping out with him since Valentines Day.

I hadn't told Johnson that I asked my transplant co-coordinator to set it all up for me, but when I arrived in the afternoon Johnson said to me... "Are you staying here tonight?"  He said all the nurses were teasing him saying he was going to have a sleepover tonight, but he just thought they were all joking with him.  When I told him I was staying, a HUGE smile came over his face.  He was soooo happy I was able to stay with him.  So I've been playing cheerleader, and private nurse for him for the past 5 days.  I've got to snuggle in bed with him while dialysis was being performed on him.  We've even had problems with the central lines constantly getting clotted outside of Johnson's body, and we've had to change circuits a few times.   Johnson is VERY tired after dialysis, and usually get's a huge headache too!  So I ask his nurses to give him what he needs.  He has waves of nausea too, and I run to get the bowl to throw up into.  His body is so beaten up these days... he is bruised all over, and the swelling in the lower parts of his body are causing him much discomfort!  His feet look like footballs, and his privates are soooo engorged that although it's really funny to look at... it is just soooo heavy for him.  Imagine if you will, walnuts to a small pumpkin.  Poor baby!

I have been feeling amazing until Friday when my pain medication ran out.  Those blessed pain pills!  I have been in extreme pain since.  My belly blows up huge and is so distended and full of gas that never seems to get released.  It is making me a tad cranky.  I do my best.  I go to the pharmacy and pick up some Tylenol and Advil in the hopes they may relieve my pain.  No luck!  Tomorrow will not come soon enough!  I will go to my family doctor's and ask for more medicine.  No joke it hurts!

So we did another session of dialysis last night, followed by lot's of medication for Johnson.  Today is a day of rest, and tomorrow they will perform a biopsy of Johnson's kidney.  We we so happy to find out we could get a day pass, and that Johnson could come home until 10:00PM.  We were soooooo excited to see the girls!!!  They came home around 1:30PM and we were waiting to surprise them upstairs in bed.  Let's just say lot's of hugs and screaming happened!  What a JOY!!  THEY ARE AWESOME!!! THEY FEED THE SOUL!!

The churches "Food Fairies" arrive again!  My sister and I say... "Ham...blessed ham!"  The food is amazing!  Thank you to everyone who is helping us!  GOD BLESS YOU!!

By 8:00 PM Johnson and I had just about had it.  We certainly realize we are NOT ready for any type of home life yet.  Seriously... we are useless.  We move slowly and painfully.  Johnson just left with his cousin Becky who took him back to the hospital.  I've stayed home for the night, and will return back tomorrow morning to the hospital so I can be with Johnson for his biopsy.  I keep telling Johnson to talk softly to his new kidney... compliment her... tell her everything will be ok.  She is after all a woman, not to mention a "Robinson".  We require alot of attention!

So I'm trying to add our A-Channel news clips for your viewing, as well as a few photos for you to peruse on our dialysis page.  I will update you all again when I can!  If you can visit or call Johnson to help cheer him up, it would be most welcomed.  Mornings after 9:00AM would be the best time to try and catch him awake!
