Johnson
has officially turned 40!
Well
so much has happened since the last time I updated our site. There
was much planning that went into throwing Johnson an amazing 40th Birthday
Bash. As well, many more updates on our tests.
Johnson's
Stress Tests (Thursday November 9th)
Johnson
arrived at the hospital for a series of workup tests to be done prior to
the transplant. He needed to do more blood work, and he needed to
fast for a 3 hour stress test. During this stress test they injected
a dye into him and had him run at intervals on a treadmill while they
tested the oxygen in his lungs, as well as how well his heart
performed. Johnson did this test years before, so the team figured
that he would most likely do worse. To everyone's amazement he did
much better. I guess those EPO (iron) shots have kicked in, allowing
more oxygen to travel through his blood and helps to give him more
energy! Way to go babe.
Our
Happy News! (Thursday November 16th)
I
get a call at work telling me that all of our Cross-Matching tests for B
cells and T cells have come back negative! This is amazing news,
cause it mean that Johnson shouldn't reject my kidney. As well, all
of our tissue type tests were extremely favorable, with me matching 2 out
of 6 antigens! Whoo Hoo!! And I am clear of any virus's which
could put a stop to this whole procedure. So it looks like our
transplant is a go, pending just a couple more tests I need to do.
But basically they all have to do with my own personal health.
Saturday
November 18TH (Johnson's 40th Birthday BASH)
So I rented a hall, hired a DJ and
Caterer for this evenings event. I am very excited and over 75
people have confirmed their attendance for dinner. Many more appear
later. Johnson is soooo happy to see all his friends and family who
have come in honor of him. He is very touched! The hall looked
great, the food was "Average"...good thing everyone didn't come
just for the food, but rather to see Johnson. I am excited, because
I have written a poem for him. You see, at our wedding nine years
ago, he wrote and recited the most beautiful poem titled "My New
Wife" which had all the ladies crying and wishing that they
themselves would have married Johnson. I mean he put all the men to
shame! Mr. Romantic! When Johnson called me up to make a
speech after his, I had nothing prepared at all! No speech, no poem
etc... I cracked a joke saying I didn't prepare anything at all for my new
husband .... I didn't have time!!! I was busy planning a
wedding! HA HA Johnson has also written many other poems over
the years. Each of our daughters has had a poem written to them
before they were born as well as after they were born. They are very
tender and dear. So I attempted to write one for Johnson and recite
it to him at his party, which from what I've been told had a few people in
tears. It was suppose to be very funny and was in many sections,
because everyone at the party knew us since we met, and could catch all of
it's humor, where I poke fun at Johnson and myself. I would like to
post it up here for everyone to read and get a good chuckle!

Your
40 Years Old Man! (A Birthday Poem For My Husband)
Fourteen
years ago I met this man,
Twenty-six
years old, with an amazing tan!
We
danced all night, and then he got drunk,
He
locked lips with me, who was this punk?
He
called the next morn, bright and early to see,
If
I would just teach him Excel he did plea!
Of
course I agreed…but this fellow was thick,
You
see he’s as dumb as can be, like a brick!
He
screamed to his roommates, help me clean up this mess!
Kendra
might come, she may just might say “yes”,
Embarrassed
he’d be,
If
only I’d see
What
a real pig he was,
Cause
I’d see all his flaws!
He
then said to me…let’s go on a date,
A
date that would last 14 years was our fate!
There’s
no dating me on Tuesday, and another on Wednesday,
I
only agreed thinking he’d last until Sunday!
Oh
no…I don’t smoke much, only casual you see,
Said
I’d quite sooner than later! Hee Hee!
He
propose the first time, put his heart on his sleeve,
But
all of you know, all I did was just leave!
He
cried the whole year, put all your ears to the test,
He
was lost without me, and just could not rest!
For
one year he begged me, and wore me down,
I
agreed to dinner, just one night on the town!
The
rest is history, my friends can attest,
Fourteen
years of love now that I’ve been blessed!
With
our two girls a family we be,
Just
the four of us, as tight as can be!
We
live, laugh and love like there will be no tomorrow,
In
spite of our hard times and all of it’s sorrow!
Big
shoulders he has, to carry the load,
But
I’m just not sure how much more he can hold!
Lean
on me my dear husband, I’ll help carry you through,
You’ve
always known that I am the glue.
Your
breaking down all over the place,
It’s
a good thing you still have a cute face!
I’ll
give you my kidney my dear if I can,
To
nag you from outside and "insides" the plan!
I’ll
love you forever, and ever my friend,
I’ll
be right here by your side to the end!
No
time for a speech at our wedding I had,
I
hope this makes up for it, I hope you are glad!
Look
at all of your friends here tonight,
They
wish you the best and much luck with your plight!
Your
forty this year….man the time flew,
Not
sure I can be seen with an old fart like you!
Oh
man you are old, what am I doing with you?
Your
bad for my image, they’ll think I’m old too?
Just
kidding my friend, it’s Billy Jean time,
Will
you moon walk for us? I know that your primed!
So
please start the music, and get us all started,
Don’t
stop now or we’ll be broken hearted!
Show
us your moves, I have seen them all,
And
be careful dear that you don’t fall!
So
raise you drinks everyone and give him a cheer!
And
later on you can all buy him beers!
With
Love
your
wife Kendra
